Ash would have to be one of the best solo acts you could ever run into. The buzz at the blues stage at Woodford this year about Ashes shows was massive. Every year there are a few acts where you go, bloody hell, this guy is going to be huge. Ash was definitely one of these.

He casts his spell over the crowd and before you know it, everyone is laughing and dancing and clapping along to his infectious blues.

Now hosting Triple J's Blues and Roots Show and with a 2005 ARIA nomination up his sleeve, his star is fast rising. Well, probably actually risen.

I have had a few beers with him since and he just a bloody sweet-heart of a guy who lives a boys fantasy world of surfing, snowboarding, traveling and playing the blues to sell out crowds. I want to be reincarnated Ash Grunwald.
